"VIA" is the first album as "Andi Otto" instead of "Springintgut".
It features the first collaborations with the Indian singer MD Pallavi and has been produced in Bangalore as well as at STEIM in Amsterdam. Less experimental than most of the "Springintgut" output, these tracks are built on a slow and steady bassdrum (~100bpm), analog synths and countless strings. 2LP, CD, DL.
"Bangalore Whispers" is the first collaboration with MD Pallavi from South India. She sings a mesmerizing solo with syllables of traditional carnatic music. Released in march 2016 as a 7inch and digital track on Pingipung Records.
This collaboration with F.S. Blumm (guitar and electronics) has first been released exclusively in Japan for their tour in spring 2014 on the nightcruising imprint from Kyoto. It was followed by a worldwide LP/CD release on Pingipung in late 2014. The album presents 17 tracks which have been composed together in joyful sessions in Berlin within one month.
The third Springintgut album with "Perera Elsewhere" on Vocals and the first attempts to capture the "Fello" instrument in the studio. Tracks such as "Ode to Yakushima", "Kamogawa Cycling" or "Western Kyoto" feature music recorded and composed in Japan during Andi Otto's stay in Kyoto in 2011.

When Andi Otto returned from a three months tour and residency in India in 2010, he had some new recordings and old records in my bag. He was fascinated by south-indian carnatic string recordings in their weird similarity to country-fiddling when listening to short, looped samples of solo violinists. At the Jaaga centre in Bangalore he produced two odes to the animals in the city, one to the eagles above and another to the dogs within. This single has been released on Pingipung marks the first of a series of seven singles to be presented in the summer of 2011, the "Summer Of Seven". It is now sold out.
"Park And Ride" is Springintgut's second full-length album, released on City Centre Offices in 2008. It was partly recorded at STEIM in Amsterdam during friendly spring times, partly recorded in Andi Otto's studio in an autumn forest near Lueneburg. One half of this record is a ride, the other one is contemplation. That's why it works best on vinyl.
"Posten 90" is Springintgut's first longplayer, released on Pingipung. The album title is the name of the forest house near Lueneburg where Andi Otto lived at the time. Only 40 minutes from the centre of Hamburg, he lived and worked next to a river in an ancient outpost for commuter train services. Sheep all around. These were inspiring days, one can hear that.
Springintgut EP is Andi Otto's first solo release, released on Pingipung in 2003. These tracks came out of the attempts to program drum etudes in drum samplers to practise by listening to them. He gradually replaced drum sounds by a melody, and another, and another, the goal was set. It's a vivid sound which goes well together with Andi Otto's then newly chosen artist name which no one can pronounce. Originally, "Springintgut" is a street name in the town of Lueneburg. At the same time is a mix of two german fairytale characters, "Springinsfeld" and "Tunichtgut" which implies a happy-go-lucky/ trial-and-error attitude. For those not familiar with this, just focus in the "spring in the guts" sound of the name.
Another themed compilation on Pingipung after the Piano-record from 2005 is this beautiful Brass-Sampler. I contributed "Outpost", next to tracks by Lawrence, Mouse On Mars, James Din A4, Le Rok, Vanishing Breed, and many more. More info here.
I made a remix for Sprutbass, one of the gifted pioneers of the Skweee genre. I added stuttered mallets and a cello chorus to his "Schengen Funk". Released on the Dødpop label from Oslo in 2013.
This is one of the remixes for Schlammpeitziger's fantastic album "What's Fruit". Springintgut reworks "Pipe Claphorse". Released on a 12'' vinyl on Pingipung, with more contributions by Mouse On Mars, Andreas Dorau, Candie Hank, Hey and Thomas Mahmoud Zahl.
DJ Mix recorded together with F.S. Blumm for the Pingipung Podcast series, in the month when our album "The Bird and White Noise" was released. It's calmer and more jazzy than the other DJ mixes I have online.
